Sometimes you have what I call "flow" with a painting, which means that every move with the brush feels amazing. Sometimes you are really unlucky and have to put away the brush for a while to think about how to make the painting beautiful. This painting "Slottsbacken" has been standing in a corner for months until a few weeks ago when I decided to apply a little colour at a time. Today it is finished and what a triumph it is when you have managed to turn work from being awful to becoming something you are proud of!
I especially love the details within this painting, the shadows. the golden clothes and of course the dogs.
